“Intense Anger Was Hiding Beneath My Sadness”

Turning Anger into the Power to Move Your Life Forward
I used to feel sad for no apparent reason. Even small disappointments could quickly pull me into full-blown sadness, loneliness, and insecurity.
When I began training as a Holotropic Breathwork® facilitator, I hoped that releasing this sadness would bring me greater inner harmony and emotional stability.
Instead, what emerged was rage, resentment, and even hatred.
In some sessions, I cried, screamed, and cursed for nearly three hours.😅
Breathwork revealed the intensity of the anger I had unconsciously suppressed. But it was only after studying Fractal Psychology®, developed in Japan, that I understood why that anger had formed and what kept triggering it.
When we are ruled by emotion, it is not necessarily our present-day adult self responding to a present-day event. Often, the emotional brain formed in early childhood takes over our body and mind. I call this the Child Mind.
Beneath my sadness was a child’s anger and resentment, “Why didn’t you give me what I wanted?”
I began bringing the broader perspective of my Adult Mind to those memories:
“You were not loved any less just because Mom had your baby brother. You had grown and no longer needed the same care as a baby. Your parents carried responsibilities you could not see while maintaining a stable and safe life for you.”
“Today, you can develop your capabilities, make your own choices, and create fulfillment through your own actions.”
By repeatedly giving my early emotional brain broader information it could not perceive at the time, I guided my Child Mind away from complete dependency and toward greater self-reliance.
It took a few years of repetition, but I no longer feel sad for no apparent reason and I do not feel lonely at all.
Does that mean my anger disappeared? No.
Anger is energy; it is neither good nor bad.
What matters is which mind determines its direction—and whether that energy is used to attack and resist, or to create and move life forward.
When its direction changes, anger can evolve into determination, passion, motivation, and courage.
Brain Upgrading means learning to perceive what our younger brain could not—and using that expanded recognition until a new pattern becomes our default.
We do not need to eliminate the powerful emotional energy within us. We need to develop the mind capable of directing it toward the future we choose to create.
