“The Brain Only Sees What It Already Knows”

Change Doesn't Begin Outside—It Begins With the Stories You Chose to Believe
In my Child Mind Transformation Work, I share that we carry many “characters” within us. They are rooted in memory patterns embedded in the brain.
Some of these patterns were formed during overwhelming emotional experiences in early life. When a child can’t fully process what they feel, they often decide something to protect themselves. And that decision—made with the limited understanding of a young child—becomes a lifelong strategy that continues to operate unconsciously, even into adulthood.
These old decisions can quietly invite pain, limitation, or unnecessary struggle into our lives.
Here’s a personal example:
When I was two years old, my younger brother was born.
Naturally, my mother’s attention shifted to the newborn.
But as a toddler, I interpreted this as:
“She has downgraded me. I no longer matter.”
In that moment of rage and heartache, I made a decision:
“I’ll show her how miserable and pitiful I am.”
And I acted it out by crying and screaming endlessly—to punish her.
I had no memory of this as an adult. But years later, while working as an actress in Hollywood, I began to experience panic attacks before every audition. My heart would race uncontrollably, and I had to rely on anti-anxiety medications and beta-blockers just to get through. It was agonizing.
It wasn’t until I began studying Fractal Psychology that I realized:
My brain was still running the exact same program.
Audition = Approval = Mommy’s attention = Love = Safety
Failing an audition meant unconsciously defaulting to:
“I’m miserable and suffering—look at me!”
This was a two-year-old decision still shaping my adult reality.
Here’s the truth:
The brain can only perceive what it already “knows.” But what it “knows” is not the truth—it’s just a memorized pattern. Which means our “reality” is not out there. It’s the replay of our internal structures.
So if you’re trying to change your reality without updating your inner framework, it’s like trying to fix a tree’s withered leaves without healing the roots.
Real healing begins when you identify the outdated decision still blocking your growth and freedom—and then consciously replace that outdated strategy with a new one.
Ask yourself:
What decisions did I make as a child to protect myself?
Are those strategies still quietly running my life today?
Only understanding what you are can set you free.
